Outlook Express normally allows you to view and save all e-mail attachments. This tweak blocks executable files that potentially contain harmful viruses.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called 'BlockExeAttachments' using the settings below.

Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.

BlockExeAttachments	REG_DWORD	0x00000001 (1)

Settings:

User Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Outlook Express]
Name: BlockExeAttachments
Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value: (0 = disable restriction, 1 = enable restriction)
